When I was still an intern in chiropractic college, I was already seeing a fairly large number of patients. Once, a good friend of mine brought the 5-year-old son of her boyfriend to me for help. She and her boyfriend were both fellow students at my chiropractic college, but I did not know him.
The boy had a history of bedwetting almost every single night, for years. He got in fights at school, almost every single day. He was in fact in danger of being removed from his school. (I later found out that the boy's mother had left them both and moved far away. They never saw her.)
He came to me, for gentle chiropractic adjustments, 2 to 3 times a week, for three weeks. One day, while I was walking down the hall to a class, this boy and his dad, who, you will recall, I had never even met, came walking toward me.
The boy ran to me and literally leaped into my arms. His dad came up to me, with tears in his eyes, reached out to shake my hand, and said, "Thank you so much for helping my son." It turns out, the boy had not wet the bed in two weeks, and he had not gotten in a fight at school for two weeks. This was unheard-of for them.
